The Quest for Genuine Freedom: A Guide to Personal Liberation

The Quest for Genuine Freedom: A Guide to Personal Liberation

Why is life forced upon us? Why must we conform to rules and continue with tasks we find meaningless? These are frequent questions spurred by the frustrations of living in a world dictated by external forces, irrespective of our personal achievements and opportunities. However, through a deeper understanding of our existence, we can embark on a journey towards genuine freedom and personal liberation.

Freedom is a Choice

The movie The Matrix provides profound insights into our situation. When Neo meets the Oracle, she tells him, You are not here to make choices; you have already made it. You are here to find out why. This statement is a reminder that we are all here because of our own choices. The question we should ask ourselves is not why we must do these things, but rather, why are we still forced to follow these paths? What changes must we make to find true liberation in this life?

Deeming oneself as a mere participant in life is a foolish way of thinking. Instead of dwelling on questions that do not lead to meaningful insights, focus on the larger purpose that goes beyond oneself. Seek to find your true calling through a series of trials and errors. This process will inevitably lead you to a path that brings genuine fulfillment and purpose.

Reclaiming Your Autonomy

The myth that life and others exist solely for our convenience is pervasive, yet it is not the truth. Life on Earth has existed for far longer than we can comprehend, and the era of capitalism has exacerbated the disparity, creating a system where the rules are dictated by a small number of ultra-billionaires. Those in power dictate the rules, and political parties often serve as their puppets.

However, the journey towards genuine freedom starts with focusing on yourself. Begin by making small improvements in your life. Choose one aspect that you would like to change and start making efforts towards that goal. By taking control of small aspects of your life, you will gradually feel a sense of empowerment and less compulsion to follow external forces.

The Experience of Life

Life is not something we participate in; it is something we experience. While we cannot control the default experience we have when we are born, we can take steps to shape it. Remember the dreams you have while asleep? You do not dream because you want to, nor can you stop dreaming. However, you can practice mindfulness and meditation to control your dreams and possibly even alter their course when you wake up.

Similarly, your life experience is a series of defaults, but you have the power to actively shape it. Life is either an experience that brings growth or decay. It is up to you to decide which path to follow.

Acknowledging Responsibility

Is it fair to rely on others to feed and clothe you if you do not take part in your own life? The answer is no. While it is true that others might cater to your needs, ultimately, you are responsible for your own well-being. If you do not take initiative, neither will others. You cannot expect others to wipe your butt after you defecate if you do not take care of your own needs. Life is not a spectator sport; it requires active participation.

Instead of simply enduring life, make a plan. Actively work towards your goals and take steps to improve your life. The alternative is to die of dehydration, which would be a waste of the resources given to you. There is a whole world out there waiting for you to explore, and your true calling awaits you if you choose to seek it.
