The Impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic on Jehovah's Witnesses

At the peak of the pandemic and during our transition, we changed our method of witnessing from in-person visits to letter writing and phone witnessing. Now, we are back to door-to-door witnessing, visiting people in their homes, and engaging in informal witnessing. We went where the people are to continue our mission.

Adapting to the New Normal

We have resumed our in-person meetings and door-to-door work with some adjustments to help prevent any transmission of COVID-19 or any other disease. This ensures the safety of our members while continuing our essential mission.

The coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic had a significant effect on Jehovah's Witnesses. In response to the pandemic, our meetings were shifted to virtual platforms via Zoom, and we ceased our door-to-door witnessing. Instead, our members engaged in phone calling and letter writing to continue spreading the message of hope and joy.

For several months, our members have resumed their in-person meetings and door-to-door work, adopting necessary precautions to maintain health and safety.

Personal Choices and Precautions

When it came to getting the vaccine, it was a personal choice, and no one was ever forced to take it. I myself did not take the shots nor did I wear a mask, and I have not contracted COVID-19. I have been taking Ivermectin for 12 years prior to the pandemic, which I believe kept me safe. However, personal research and the guidance of the Bible are essential for making informed decisions.

Statistical Impact and Ministry Changes

The pandemic brought two major changes to our ministry. First, we have lost almost 18,000 brothers and sisters to the disease, which is a significant loss of life. Second, it put an almost total halt to our public ministry for almost three years, which is unprecedented.

For the first time since 1976, we have reflected a loss of numbers in the active ministry in 2021. This marks a critical turn in our long-standing trend of membership growth.

Despite these challenges, Jehovah's Witnesses have remained adaptable and committed to their mission. As we move forward, our focus is on rebuilding and continuing our vital work of sharing the good news with the world.
