Eligibility for RBI Grade B Exam in 2021: Age and Academic Criteria
Given your current age and the upcoming RBI Grade B examination in 2021, you might be wondering if you qualify. Let's break down the requirements and examine the details surrounding your eligibility.
Potential Timing of the Exam
The current recruitment cycle for the RBI Grade B examination is expected to conclude by February or March 2025. With a few months gap before the release of the next notification, it is highly likely that you will be able to attempt the next exam.
There is a concern about the future notifications, but based on my personal perspective, there is no reason to doubt the release of vacancies. Even if there is a gap in notifications, there are numerous other opportunities available.
Preparing for the Examination
Do not let the lack of clarity deter you from preparing. Your preparation will not go to waste. Keep up with your studies and stay prepared for when the next exam cycle begins.
Special Considerations for Age
There is a special provision for candidates who are just short of the age limit. If you apply for the examination by June 2022, you can still qualify since the final result is expected to be declared by the time you turn 21.
If the notification comes in December 2020 or later, you will be eligible based on the final result declared at that time. However, if the notification comes in November 2020, your age will be considered as on 1st November 2020.
Academic Requirements
For the RBI Grade B examination, the academic criteria are stringent. To be eligible, you should have a graduation degree with a minimum of 60% in aggregate from recognized universities. Additionally, you must have secured a minimum of 60% in 10th and 12th standards.
Relaxation for Young Candidates
Recognizing the constraints faced by young candidates, there is a provision to allow applications even if you are borderline in terms of age. You can send a representation to the RBI to waive off the age technical and codal formalities.
During my tenure at NTPCPOWERGRID and IPGCL/PPCL, I have allowed a number of applicants on this basis. This indicates that the RBI is flexible and accommodating towards candidates who meet the academic criteria but are just short of the age limit.
Final Thoughts
While the precise timing and release of the next notification are uncertain, it is important to prepare according to the requirements outlined. Keep an eye on the RBI's official announcements and stay prepared.
Good luck with your preparations and future examinations!
