Dreams and Hopes for BTS's Future: A Fan's Perspective
As a loyal fan of BTS, I can't help but dream about what the future may hold for the group. While I am overjoyed that all members will be serving in the military soon, I also have a few hopes for their journey together. Let's explore some of the dreams I have for my favorite K-pop group in 2021 and beyond.
Slowing Down and Personal Growth
While I absolutely adore where BTS is now and the incredible journey they have taken, I hope that for a while, everything they do slows down so they can catch their breaths. With Jin turning 30 this year and the group having been active for over eight years, it's crucial that the members take the time to explore themselves beyond their group identity.
I hope to see more comebacks from the group before Jin enlists, as this would allow the members to showcase their growth as artists and individuals. In addition, I would love to see the group members explore their solo projects, similar to how other K-pop groups have done. While we understand their commitment to the rap line, I believe it would be beneficial for the members to gain more individual recognition through their own solo work.
Fandom Cleanse and Safety
Another dream I have for BTS is a fandom cleanse, driven by personal reasons and less selfish motives. I hope to see a member, preferably the maknae (the youngest member), come out as dating. This could act as a catalyst for a significant change within the fanbase, removing toxic elements and creating a healthier environment for the members.
The primary reason behind this dream is that a fandom cleanse could be like a face steam, where all the toxic elements are purged, leaving a clean slate. This could potentially lead to more concert ticket availability as more fans would be willing to give BTS a chance. On a more practical level, there might be financial benefits for the members, as fans who are initially wary of the group due to toxic stans might become supporters. Moreover, a safer environment for the members, staff, and their company could be created. However, it's also important to acknowledge that such a move could pose risks if the trend of fan extremism continues.
Conclusion
While these dreams may seem unrealistic, I like to dream—at the very least, I hope the retrogression would bring the group and their fans closer. It may not happen, but as long as I have faith in my favorite group, I will continue to support them. Happy birthday, BTS! May the future be bright and full of growth for all of you.
